Eight hundred sixty four squares of folded white organza, each with a person’s name stitched onto it, are attached to the wall with straight pins. Each 12cm square hangs on the diagonal and is pulled away from the wall on a pin. The cloth squares move slightly as people pass by, becoming a kind of breathing wall 414 x 621cm.
Suspended in front of the above wall piece are another eight hundred sixty four squares of folded organza which are stitched together to form three hanging panels 282x420cm in all. Red squares of organza are stitched onto the front of the panels creating a cathedral window type pattern. A person’s name is stitched, in red thread, onto each square of folded cloth.
In front of the above piece are thousands of torn strips of red organza clumped together to form one large hanging mass of red 200x100cm.
